Lou is a Personal Trainer in St. Louis, MO who has dedicated his time and efforts to Lifting Others Up. His journey has been anything other than easy, but he has managed to make a name in the city for and changing lives. He trains clients in a small front along side of another personal trainer.
     Lou plans to bring hope and change the face of the low-income . A bigger with more amenities will decrease crime and obesity in the . Families will have a place to exercise and perform different physical activities in a clean and safe environment. There are many building available in the area that can be renovated or rented out for this project to be successful.
     People from households with incomes below $15,000 are much more likely to be diagnosed with diabetes or asthma, to be obese, and to be at risk for health problems related to lack of exercise than people from households with incomes above $50,000. Specific physical and social barriers to physical activity for low-income people may vary depending on whether they live in urban, suburban or rural areas or in places that are predominantly low-income. Low-income status also disproportionately affects racial minorities and exacerbates racial health disparities.
     Regular physical activity improves health and quality of life. It reduces by 50% the risk of developing coronary heart disease, adult diabetes and obesity. It reduces by 30% the risk of developing hypertension. It also reduces osteoporosis, relieves symptoms of depression and anxiety, and prevents falls in the elderly.
